I don't know if it's the chill in the air or the browning leaves on the edges of trees, or maybe it's the light raindrops of the season, but today is something filled with magic. A warm cup of coffee enjoyed in the morning. The depth of the gray clouds are painting the otherwise blue sky, and autumn in California is often so underwhelming. Today is challenging that. Today is more than ordinary. How often do you get to wear sweaters, scarves, and hats while being completely comfortable? Only in fall's cool blanket are you so free to express and internalize yourself in one motion. I'm typically staring at a green landscape, yet this dying painting seems to be so full of life. Depth. It's what draws us in. Change. It's always so scary, which may be the reason that All Hallow's Eve is a preface to fall, but the deep hues seem to grasp my attention year-round. I have grown to love the change and honesty autumn gives us, of life and death. It's so comforting, and I hope to live a thousand more autumns.
